OSHA's 2026 Regulatory Agenda Key Compliance Changes, Deregulation, and Enforcement Updates

Presenter: Adele L. Abrams, Esq., ASP, CMSP

Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026

Time: 1 pm ET | 12 pm CT | 11 am MT | 10 am PT

Duration: 90 minutes

Course Description

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has released its July 2026 Regulatory Agenda, introducing significant policy shifts that will reshape workplace safety and compliance obligations across industries, including healthcare. Combined with President Trump's Executive Order 14192, "Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation," these changes signal one of the most substantial regulatory transitions in recent years.

This webinar provides a practical analysis of OSHA's evolving regulatory landscape, highlighting proposed revisions to respiratory protection standards, ladder safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, machine guarding, and powered industrial truck (forklift) regulations. Participants will also examine updates to OSHA's enforcement priorities, including changes to the Site-Specific Targeting (SST) Program and National Emphasis Programs (NEPs) that may directly affect inspection strategies and employer responsibilities.

The session will also explore the uncertain future of major long-term initiatives such as workplace violence prevention in healthcare and heat illness prevention, along with the growing legal challenges to OSHA's rulemaking authority and Congressional efforts that could significantly influence future workplace safety regulations. In addition, attendees will gain insight into proposed modifications to the General Duty Clause and the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and understand how these developments may impact both employers and employees.

Whether you oversee compliance, safety, operations, or risk management, this webinar will help you understand the latest federal OSHA developments, assess how the July 2026 regulatory agenda affects your organization, and develop proactive strategies to maintain compliance in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory environment.
